Don’t let scary projects stall you. You have to let go of the idea that you can ever do a job ‘perfectly’. In the end you are only competing against and improving your own skill. The lessons you learn while finishing an overwhelming task will help you get the next one done even better.
2) Make your work space give you positive feedback.
Put up projects that make you feel proud. It especially helps when you in the midst of projects to be reminded of what you have completed before.
3) Sharpen your skills constantly.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed by a tool if you don’t know how to master it. There are many seminars, and training courses (some of them free!) out there that can help keep you at the top of your game.
4) Build your own network of consultants.
It is important to have people that you trust so that you can contact them for advice when you are overwhelmed. Being at school gives you two important things that you can’t get on your own – a formal education and contacts to the best in your profession- make friends with your Professors! If you are not in school, and are at a loss on where to start, there are a lot of great community forums that are devoted to professionals helping each other out.
5) Socialize with people that understand.
It is important have a support system that builds you up instead of taking you down. Have a creative friend meet you for lunch for a vent session. It helps to have another person who knows what your going through, that can tell you that it is going to be ok.
