One more reason why non-web-based clients need websites

Some clients, especially those that do no business over the web, question the need for a website or an SEO effort. But they seldom question the need for local publicity.
My wife writes magazine articles. One recent assignment had her seeking out local farms. They were hard to find, in part because few had any web presence. After all, why would a small farm need a website?
Yet, here was an experienced writer, story assignment in hand from a respected regional publication with some 400,000 readers. As publicity, it was priceless, and it went largely to those enterprises that could be found online. And this situation happens again and again.
Search engines are key research tools for journalists and editors. That makes having a website, even a simple one, an essential step in the local marketing/P.R. efforts of any business. Even those that “don’t do business online.”

It seems that, in spite of the fact that there are many companies with no online activity, there are many doors that can be opened only through the World Wide Web. The possibilities can seem to be unforeseeable, but the Internet will surprise all the sceptics in a pleasant way.

Having a web presence is a vital and affordable component of a successful marketing plan. The Internet is the most effective and economical way for connecting to the community, networking with other groups with mutual goals and interests, and ofcourse, for doing business. If someone is not selling any products online but still the entrepreneur wants to have web presence just to boost the marketing strategy. The trend has changed a lot and these types of plans are working to a greater extent.

It’s a wonderful life….
This topic should be part of all web design training. I’m sure it’s not the norm, but at the last big corporation I worked for (in-house), the higher the level of employee, the less informed decisions they were able to make about web design or development.

Agree with Anastacia. If you run a business you must have a website and if you have a website you must have a good Search Engine Optimization program to get trafic to your site…

These days many people use search engines to search for information about products and services before they make an off-line purchase. So even if a business does not have a product which is sold online it benefits theme to develop a web presence. An estimated 14,400,000,000 searches were made globally during the month of February 2007. That works out to around 6,000 searches per second. An incredibly huge market for any business.

I find most clients don’t realise they need SEO until about six months after they’ve had their website built and they’re scratching their heads saying “Where is all the online traffic?”. If you build it they will not come…at least not for a few years!

Having a website is like having a 24 hour store/service. Low operating cost yet with unlimited result potential. Certainly if you are serious about your website, you will then need to invest.

Web presence is a must for all the business houses and all for personal reasons. The world is moving fast towards virtual business, and those who don’t have a presence are going to be left out forever, or until they too come online.

Yes, having a website is key. I am continually amazed when my clients tell me that they were reading about me at one place on the internet or another. I know from my personal experience, when I am looking for information on anything, the web is my first resource.

You don’t need to do business online to need a web site as long as your potential clients use the internet. It’s something I never understand why so many people don’t see how easy it is to get an easy to remember web address and refer people there. Once there, they can get all of the information on you which otherwise they would have to call you about or someone else would tell them about about THEIR own business.
